Still one of my favorite songs of resistance. Some of us are old enough to recall the hell of the #ironcurtain. Sure, #ivadavies was sporting major #mullet action, yet, the worm turns, and it’s a new thing for a new generation. Gorgeous, deeply felt and expressed songwriting/craftsmanship. #icehouse
Even the best albums of any band or artist normally have one or two songs which is filler & what detracts from half a dozen "killer songs", but MAN OF COLOURS by #Icehouse, led by #IvaDavies, isn't one.
Love this obscure track off it, beautiful melody & guitar intro as well.

Never have been a #DavidBowie fan at all. Which makes my liking of much of #Icehouse' s music, the Aussie rock band fronted by "Bowie devotee" #IvaDavies, I guess a little odd. 😄
One Bowie song that I don't mind is 1977's HEROES, and here is Icehouse's cover of it from 2004.

It was certainly a departure from the shimmering gloss of the MAN OF COLOURS album from mid 80s.
By 1993 Australian rock band #Icehouse, led by #IvaDavies, was needing to strip down its sound in the grip of the alternative rock revolution and this song was one of the results.

This is the most epic song which #Icehouse ever recorded and #IvaDavies sung.
A poignant, powerful song off the awesome MAN OF COLOURS album (1986) which Davies sung with heartfelt intensity.
It's about the atomic bombs dropped on #Hiroshima and #Nagasaki in #Japan in 1945.

The #Icehouse album MAN OF COLOURS from 1987 was an absolute watershed as far as production goes for an Australian rock act.
It's not just a brilliant album because of its sound, it's also the best set of songs #IvaDavies put together.
