I’m actually surprised nobody filed. I’m taking that as an honor, and I am grateful. I’m going to go door-to-door anyway. I think my running mates will too. Despite what some people yell and attack me for (right in front of my house last week😂), I do listen. I just don’t always agree, or there are other considerations that are relevant. You have to balance what’s best for the whole town, not just one person’s vision. It’s amazing what normally nice people are willing to just spout out on Facebook and think that’s OK. Not complaining though, I did sign up for this✅ Often agree with their points. I do absorb it and think about it, and do homework. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned the importance of listening, especially when it’s not easy to hear. Everybody wants cops on their street to do enforcement. I’d like that too. Sometimes I get the funny comparison of us to Fair Haven or Oceanport; obviously very different towns without major downtowns and State Highway going through it, and did I say a hospital? We are not a community with two mildly busy streets😀. "Ben, nobody dares speed through Fairhaven and Oceanport" Adding police is expensive. One of the number one complaints I get is property taxes. It’s also a complaint from a lot of people concerned about pedestrian safety, as I am. I might be convinced to support spending more on police or code enforcement, but I want it to be a last resort. I would prefer finding efficiencies. There are a lot of things in the town that hadn’t been tended to; that we’re addressing. Some of it’s not cheap. From affordable housing, the homeless, traffic & pedestrian safety. So I’m gonna put on my "orange safety vest" (kidding), right now, and walk downtown. I am careful walking around . Will go enjoy our downtown, the Broadwalk, Riverside Gardens. 🙂 A dedicated Tri City News reader . (Took this picture in the Broadwalk )
Meanwhile in Red Bank NJ, on Fbook; Is Cllr @benforest.bsky.social just pathetically naïve?
Or patently just doesn't gaf for what he and his Ready! chums have perpetrated in this cool little town?
