Turning in the Wind continues to be the longest piece of writing I have ever done and #KazuXiao continue to be loved like a heartache. I have never poured as much of myself into a piece of writing as this one and came out of the other end as changed. This is everything I dreamed of.
An excerp from the fanfiction: "He lifted Xiao’s torso and pressed him against his chest, feeling his head fall against his shoulder. His lips found his forehead, and he held him like Xiao had held him by the lake, two souls onto each other, from the brush of a whisper to the vibrant rupture of a dream. Everything in between. “Devayaksha,” Kazuha called into the aether, and he thought of Bonanus and Menogias, he thought of Indarias and Bosacius, he thought of the hundreds fallen before him, all deprived of rest, each of them brought to ruin at the hands of resentment and fate, and his indignation caught ablaze, a thousand voices inside him crying out in rage. “Devayaksha, take me to Xiao!” he called, and at his shoulder, he felt his vision awaken, air twisting around them in a violent swirl, the whole world turning. He held Xiao tighter; held the entire breadth of the love he could not fit across the expanse of Teyvat between them and reached for him with his entire being. “Devayaksha! Take me to Xiao!” And then— The air snapped."
