Some magnificent but flagging ancient willows flank the River Kennett as it winds thro' Kentford.
A winterbourne, this chalk stream dries up in summer. Unlike a week ago, today much of it was too shallow even to snootle.

In Kentford there is a good crop of Mistletoe, roosting in the trees with the Woodpigeons and Jackdaws.

Before flowing through the rather lovely "gorge" (by East Anglian standards!) at Kentford, the River Kennett flows under the B1506 and then is rather brutally canalised alongside the road. Clearly the waters have recently been in spate.

Pig fields such a (relatively!) rich environment including
Shelducks, Oystercatchers, Stock Doves, Pied Wagtails & Starlings by day & probably Stone Curlews by night. Skylark song & displaying Lapwings the soundtrack.
