View along Meeruse street, Tallinn, towards Kopliranna from the sea. The street is unpaved, pot-holed, escorted by temporary building-site railings and not quite the ideal location for a new LVMH retail outlet catering to the Asian market. History will prove me wrong.
South-eastern end of Meeruse street, Tallinn. Once (upon a time?) this eco-section of the street led through the bushes and beer bottles to join the NW strip closer to signs of civilisation and shipping. The gate, barrier and surroundings are almost completely concealed by fresh and verdant vegetation.
Entrance - closed until further notice - to the north-western end of Meeruse street, Tallinn. Closer to the port entrance, it still denies the dominical pleasure of portuary promenade. However, the image does reveal some interesting and well-aligned brickwork of a building not yet engulfed by the encroaching greenery.
Highlight - if you will excuse the totally unintended pun - of one's expedition to Meeruse street, Tallinn. I'faith, it is a miniature, yet 3 or 4 meter-high, lighthouse or beacon on the shore warning itinerant Viking or Barbary pirates that little but rocks and occasional colza farm-escapees are to be had.

The photo shows Tallinn’s Old Town skyline with its mix of medieval church spires, the onion domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the “STANDARD” factory building, and the old industrial chimneys, all under a misty sky. The contrast between the historic Old Town, Soviet-era industry, and modern glass towers is very typical of Tallinn’s layered character.

Ethical issue: image of random garage on Paljassaare garaaziküla where some men are repairing two-wheelers. They were obviously unaware of my principle to never show people's obviously-recognizable faces outside crowd situations and demanded, with a certain threat of in-your-face violence, that I delete the photograph. Being nicely pedantic, I did delete it, but did not inform them that I would undelete it afterwards. So here it is. PS: if anyone has had a scooter stolen recently, I have a number plate.
