They are wearing enhanced research and combat outfits called E.G.O gear with a nametag of "LCE" (Limbus Company Extraction team) on their right arms. Mudkip, Fennekin (Braixen), and Chespin all debuted in "Starters - Typomaniac" in a cute but tragic fan movie about finding acceptance in yourself, others, and challenging the stigmas of the world you live in. The fan movie had a sequel called "Rare Candies" where the lives of the characters take a turn for the worse, which is what inspired the choice for their Limbus Company counterparts (If you know, you know). Limbus Company is a very fun gacha game by Project Moon which explores 13 goofballs on a bus trying to navigate the hell that is a dystopian city and learn more about themselves and the world as they collect the shattered remnants of the Sapling of Light.
