Der Human Rights Film Award der BUXUS STIFTUNG und des BERG INSTITUTE ehrt Filmemacher*innen, die sich mit ihren Kino-, Fernseh- und Filmproduktionen in herausragender Weise für Menschenrechte, Demokratie und Dialog einsetzen. Die Filme erzählen Geschichten vom Überleben und Widerstand. Geschichten von Menschen, die Genozid, Krieg und soziale Ungerechtigkeit überlebt haben, und sich dennoch nicht als Opfer fühlen. Filme, die das Schicksal der Überlebenden und ihrer Angehörigen nicht nur dokumentarisch erforschen, sondern künstlerisch und emotional weitererzählen.
