She's beautiful and wild. A small and fun piece in my new vase that brings me much joy.

Leptospermum beauties this morning. And a chance breakfast encounter with a young praying mantis.

I suggested it was putting itself at unnecessary risk of reflux by eating upside down. Being young and 'knowing better', it ignored me

Spring colour’s coming early with Leptospermum Tea Bushes now in bloom at Eckards.
Full sun, don’t dry them out while flowering.
#TopTip: No digging near the roots once planted 🌸

Leptospermum laevigatum, also known as the #coastteatree, another happy import, native to south-eastern #Australia, and here a #xeriscape sidewalk tree or shrub, sculpt-able and up to 20 feet tall.
Now endemic and naturalized, it was initially brought in for its imperviousness to salt spray and wind and used to stabilize sand dunes. She’s a multi-season plant, prone to twisting and with a wrinkled trunk, evergreen, and then these blooms.
