Took so much better pictures of my lovely knit. I’m so glad that it’s a local designer and I took a class at a local yarn shop using local yarn. Now I need to tackle some of my other works in progress. Happy Saturday! @woldten.bsky.social #lindaltorkle #lindalcollection

Just finished my beautiful Lindal Torkle. Pardon the basement floor and blocking matts. This picture does not do it justice at all so I will definitely take some better ones later but I’m really pleased with the result. @woldten.bsky.social #lindaltorkle #lindalcollection

Six women sit around a wooden table in a back classroom in a yarn store. They have each cast on their initial stitches for the design. Samples of the design are seen in the center of the table and they each have the pattern out and their yarns in front of them.

The ladies wanted to capture a group image of all their cast-ons. Here they are arranging them in the center of the table.

Because this design requires so many stitches in the opening cast on, we took the time to work through that while also placing stitch markers.

Some beautiful God’s Eyes (Ojo de Dios) created by the owner of the store.

Such a lovely afternoon today teaching a Lindal Tørkle knitting class at Green Mountain Yarn & Fiber. We had a sweet group of six knitters from as far as two hours away.

The holidays are almost upon us and cold weather has definitely settled into central Vermont! What better time to take up a new knitting project? Featured here is my Lindal Holiday Stocking. Link to pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

A golden tapered scarf is shown on top of a dark rock at Lake Champlain. Smaller rocks and water can be seen in the background.

The scarf design is the Lindal Tørkle.

This design comes with four variations for different ways to knit, allowing for a lot of creativity and ways to use up extra yarn from your stash - or - you can choose to work with a beautiful gradient such as this fiber from @junctionfibermill. Part of their “Making Tracks” collection in “Leaves in the Brook” colorway. This DK weight fiber is made with 100% American Falkland Wool.

Please note that this weight yarn is not drafted on the pattern, but I have created a separate Ravelry project page for it with notes and gauge. If you want to work with a heavier yarn such as a DK or worsted weight, I suggest going up needle sizes. This version was knit on US6, but could just as easily have been done on US8, and been incredibly beautiful! The heavier the yarn weight, the fuller it will look around the neck. This version is very cozy and warm, and Junction Fiber Mill offers so many beautiful gradient options. Be sure to check them out!

The Lindal Tørkle, part of my Lindal Collection, features a beautiful cascading knit pattern of increasingly larger short-row shapes, that are both mirrored and reversed. 🧶

A pair of hand knit socks are shown on a spongy bed of kelp on an outcropping of rocks near the ocean. The socks are displayed on wooden sock blockers from “Woodico”. The design is knit sideways using short rows to create an overall pattern where the gradient yarn pools within the different shapes during knitting. The gradient yarn changes from a hunter green, to indigo and violet, cranberry hues, turquoise, lime green and grey. It’s a really gorgeous yarn! The shapes are separated by lines in a white tone.

Some more great memories from Rhinebeck this year and the meet-up held by Junction Fiber Mill for my Lindal Sweater design. It was so amazing to meet everyone and see their color selections!
