12/ did I hear right that #R4Today SME builder wants 'mandatory amounts' in #LocalPlans to be scrapped?
So she means mandatory environmental measures? Mandatory so-called affordable homes?
#Growth starts from the bottom, not private profits creaming off the top
#RightToBuy destroyed housing mixture

Not much on my feed about UK #planning ‘reform’..?
When successive governments change the goalposts on #localplans there’s no wonder new sites aren’t forthcoming.
Where’s gov’t drive to force house builders to build consented 1m homes?

#AngelaRayner gave interviews about housing over weekend. She has simplistic view that #LocalPlans will identify locations for new homes and #Developers will build there. But in real world developers go for other often #GreenBelt sites and then appeal when rejected.

@kateemccann.bsky.social Angela Rayner was wrong about #LocalPlans They have been mandatory for decades. The problem is that Planning Officers have to consider every application even when it ignores LP. If they could reject speculative applications from developers that would streamline process.

Starmer's cosying up to housebuilders backfiring already. There's no facility for increasing house building without losing green belt or grade 1 agricultural land.
What was the outcome of consultation?
Why ignore #LocalPlans which have cost £millions already?
We need council + social housing
