A Chilien Loica looks to the left while perched on a slim branch. Approximately 15 centimeters tall, with dark grey feathers on the sides and wings, a very bright red chest and neck, and a distinctive white stripe on top of the eye. The long-tailed meadowlark (Leistes loyca) is a passerine bird of southern South America and the Falkland Islands, belonging to the meadowlark genus Leistes in the icterid family.

Loica, or Long-tailed meadowlark (Leistes loyca). I photographed this beauty while hiking at Jeinimeni National Reserve, in Chilean Patagonia back in 2018.

¿Por qué? ¿Por qué? ¡¿Por qué habiendo tantos lugares para venir y posar esta #Loica común (Leistes loyca) tiene que elegir unos fríos hierros?! Pero no es la única, y debo confesar que la iluminación que se logra en ese lugar la hace destacar porque la #fotografía no tiene ningún retoque.
