Huge thanks to volunteers Keith and George who installed another post today off Bogey Lane on Section 3 of the #LondonLoop - as well as fitting discs to the newish support rail alongside the steps up to the field alongside the lane. The route just got a little bit easier for everyone to follow!

Ramblers volunteers made more improvements to the #LondonLoop recently - 2 new posts added on Section 4 in the Addington Hills making it easier to navigate.
They were funded by Inner London Ramblers, South Bank Ramblers and the London LDWA group.
Thanks to all involved.
Pleased to share that our volunteers' persistence has resulted in Bexley Council installing these handrails on both sides of the flight of steps from Hall Place in Bexley up to the A2 on Section 1 of the #LondonLoop.
You can see what it looked like in 2024 in the 2nd photo. Thanks to all involved!
A woodland clearing in winter light, with gnarled, moss-covered trees arching overhead, their bare branches casting long dramatic shadows across a leaf-strewn ground. A wooden park bench sits quietly in the middle distance beneath the trees, bathed in low golden sunlight that highlights the green moss on the bark. The scene has a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere typical of a temperate woodland on a clear winter's day

Crystal Palace to Wimbledon via Streatham today, and that's the #CapitalRing finished, a year and three weeks after I first started the #LondonLoop. The latter definitely the better of the two. Not sure what's next, but it'd better involve a lot more pubs.
I was pleased to get this @gojauntly.bsky.social notification the other day when I hit the 250k mark in the Walk 2026k in 2026 Challenge #LondonLoop
Happy new year from the team behind the Ramblers #LondonLoop #CapitalRing and #GreenChainWalk project - we’re looking forward to continuing our work as volunteers, making improvements to waymarking, keeping route guidance up to date & highlighting diversions etc. in 2026.
Just a reminder that we keep our website updated with hazards, diversions, floods etc on the #LondonLoop #CapitalRing and #GreenChainWalk - especially in the winter months (although we don’t comment on regular mud, just because). Keep an eye-out here www.innerlondonramblers.org.uk/articles-623...
A stream flows between tree-lined riverbanks, with sunlight filtering through the leaves and casting dappled shadows on the water's surface.

A field with green grass and scraggy lavender, not at all in bloom and a lovely... er, lavender colour. There is a barren tree in the middle of the field, and a row of trees in the distance. There are no people visible.
Went to the Mayfield Lavender Field (so fieldy the named it twice!)
Surprised at the lack of Instagrammers and Tiktokers out today. I heard they love this place.

Off hiking today. London LOOP sections 6 and 7. See you soon, Coulsdon.

Our volunteers have worked with Croydon Council to get some new signage installed / replaced / fixed on Section 4 of the #LondonLoop - and to add waymark discs to new posts from our stocks.
Great to see these newly installed posts and signs in place making the route easier for everyone to follow.
Gorgeous. My favourite stage of the #LondonLoop
Grassy field at the bottom of a gentle valley. Trees, just beginning to show Autumn colours, on the hills on either side. Paths crisscross the field.
The aptly named Happy Valley. On Netcat2 #SlowWays Nethern-on-the-Hill to Caterham, and on the #LondonLoop
Enfield Council has opened a new path between Rectory Farm Road & Hilly Fields, with signs along the river on Section 17 of the #LondonLoop. Our volunteers have rewalked Section 17 and we’ve published an adaptation to our route guidance.

It’s been a nice autumn day out on the #LondonLoop and Hogsmill River Walk from Ewell to Kingston today.
9 miles down, 141 miles of beautiful #LondonLoop scenery to go!
Photo showing a gravel path leading downwards into a valley. There are young trees planted beside the path, the early stages of a woodland restoration project. The valley ahead has many tan fields interspersed with lines of green trees and hedges. The sky is overcast with clouds in a variety of grey and beige shades.

Photo showing green fields on a gentle slope, bordered by distant trees. The sky is bright blue with a couple of small patches of white cloud. A glorious day for a walk.

Lovely - but hot - walk today on the #LondonLoop from Uxbridge to Harefield West with @walking-class-hero.bsky.social
Photo showing a cottage surrounded by a lawn of green grass, leafy green trees, and green climbing plants. In the foreground, a fence beside the road is covered by leaves and flowers. There are several tubs with more flowers in front of the fence. The sky is blue but much of it is covered by clouds.

Photo showing a suburban road, lined with low rise housing, leafy green trees and streetlights. In the centre left, a line of bollards mark the entrance to a pub car park, and a tall pub sign marked “The Windmill” is topped by a cut-out of a white windmill inside a green frame. In the centre right, the sails of a real-life wooden windmill are just visible over the rooftops, in a gap between trees. The sky is overcast.

Just accept it. You're going to Kingston. The only question is which way? #londonloop
The lovely thing about the #londonloop is it takes you through places you've never been before, and confirms why.
For those starting from section 1 at Erith, don't worry, it does get better.
