LBN 684 – Interstellar Dust in Lacerta (LRGB)
About 1,200 light-years away, LBN 684 is a faint reflection and dark nebula where interstellar dust scatters and absorbs starlight, revealing the delicate structure of our galaxy’s interstellar medium.

The Cocoon Nebula – IC 5146 in LRGB
Located 2,500 light-years away in Cygnus, the Cocoon Nebula glows with star-forming gas and reflection nebulae, framed by dark dust lanes in this LRGB capture.

Busy day in the Observatory!
Replaced the treads on the steps.
Swapped the filters in the Atikone for #LRGB instead of #SHO and finally got all the adapters to install the #ZWOCAA on the RedCat71. Already for #GalaxySeason now hopefully the weather will play ball. I need some #Astrophotography
Wow! 🤩 2024 was quite a productive year for my #astrophotography journey. Here are 27 of my favorites. I was able to capture each of these images from my KCMO Bortle 6 backyard.

An LRGB image of SH2-126, a faint emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, also known as the Orion Arm of the Milky Way. The nebula, primarily composed of glowing hydrogen gas, appears as a soft red hue interwoven with intricate dark dust lanes that obscure background stars. Surrounding the nebula are countless stars, some with a golden or bluish tint, adding contrast and depth to the scene. This region is part of a dense molecular cloud complex and is illuminated by nearby young stars, which contribute to its faint glow. The image captures the subtle gradients and delicate structures of the nebula, revealing both its beauty and complexity in the context of the rich Cygnus star field
Captured the beauty of SH2-126 in stunning LRGB! 🌌 This lesser-known nebula in Cygnus glows beautifully with subtle hydrogen emission and intricate dark dust lanes. A joy to image under clear, dark skies! #Astrophotography #LRGB #SH2126 - Difficult to process too ;) We'll keep working on it! 🔭
Reply to this post if you have an object in the northern hemisphere that you'd like to see imaged in LRGB or SHO for 30mins ~ 1hr depending on requests and we'll share them for all to enjoy. #astrophotography #observatory #sho #lrgb
