Happy #magpiemonday. This is not a great shot but the sun was going down and I knew they would take flight so I took what I could. Fun fact: there are several collective terms for a group of magpies one being a tiding as it was believed they were messengers.

A photograph from my backyard in Norway of a European magpie standing on the edge of an outdoor planter, looking warily back at me.
A congregation of magpies have lived on our property for years. My office window looks out on the backyard, with a view to a moss-covered outcrop of stone. The magpies bury tidbits under the mosses, then a local squirrel sneaks in, finds and steals them. The magpies just don't get it.😅
