We tested the new MegaLights in UE 5.5, last month on the interior scene we did for CNA news new virtual set. We used over 240 lights, working in realtime. It did not disappoint! Here's a blog post on the new Lightwell website...

After about 30 mins of small optimizations I have it running fully playable on the deck! :)
~80 Billion Polys, 150 Ray-Traced Lights using MegaLights, Lumen & Substrate all running at 30fps on the SteamDeck.

And there's the catch.
Unreal's new Megalights do this thing where they fill in slowly when the come on screen. It only happens near the edge of the lights where its dimmest, but its still very obvious.
