Rosencrantz bonks his sword along the railing, like a xylophone, before calling out, 'Next!' and then Claudius and Gertrude and their retinue come barrelling on, literally carrying R&G with them like the tide. SYMBOLISM AND FORESHADOWING?! EVER HEARD OF IT?? Gosh, sorry, this movie is so cool it gets me a little worked up. I'll try not to shout at you anymore.

Fun #metatextual flourish here as Rosencrantz calls, 'Next!' to the coming #Hamlet set-piece (these roughly map to where they intersect with the written story of Hamlet, as we know it).

These guys know a lot of what's up & how this works, but not enough, if they even COULD know enough 🤔
