The moon is white, without features and just over half full. It is surrounded by a halo, visible against thin almost veiny-looking clouds, that goes from almost blue-white in the center to shades of red toward its edges, giving it a rainbow look. Below and to the right of that is a bright dot seen through the same thin greyish clouds. Further to the lower right is a green form that is just a reflection of the moon inverted.

A nearly full moon dominates the left side of the image, with Jupiter and three of its Galilean moons (Ganymede, Europa, and Callisto) visible as faint pinpricks of light to the lower right. The scene is set against a backdrop of dramatic, swirling clouds. The contrast between the bright moon and the dimmer celestial bodies is striking.
