📖 #OTD in the #History of #Literature 8 July 1923, #NellaLarsen graduated from the #NYPL #Library School, becoming the first African American woman to be a professionally trained librarian. Larsen would be a prominent figure in the burgeoning #HarlemRenaissance cultural movement.

1/2 It was the 2021 film that prompted me to read Nella Larsen's "Passing", which is a great novel. The film made a great effort at communicating the subtleties, but from the first page I preferred the book to the film...
