On to the New Workings, with 5 LRP, Common Sand, 2 Green Sand, 2 Common Tern and my first (v. late!) Yellow Wagtail🙂

Must have seen a few hundred Ospreys since my first one at Loch of the Lowes in 1992.
Still exciting even though I probably see 5 a year now!
One circling over the new workings with an entourage of Sand Martins.
Lots more Whitethroats than yesterday.

#Northantsbirds Nicely timed return to the county today, a stop at Summerleys on the way home produced 2, and then 3 Sandwich Terns. Also my FOY county Common Terns (2, plus 1 other 'Commic'), Sedge Warbler, Willow Warbler and Garden Warbler; Ruff and Glossy Ibis too🙂.

Another Avocet at the new workings, disappeared after a few minutes though.
A few more Sand Martins and Swallows and intriguingly a Water Rail squealing 🤞 they hang around.
