Okay, time for my final #Novellavember wrapup!

I finished 15 novellas, which was fewer than I would have liked, but still respectable, especially considering all that went on this month.

Whoops! I meant to post on the 20th.
Oh well, here's the rest of the #Novellavember list:

Final #Novellavember!

9: The Lies of the Ajungo by Moses Ose Utomi

If you ever wanted to read a prose novella that feels like an epic poem, this is your chance. A hard-hitting story about the ways people hold power and the ways people fight back.

And just like that, #Novellavember is hours from over.

But these two will still be around, and they'd love to meet you!

Next up is yet another book from Pushkin Press and their Japanese novella series. This one is about two loners who find each other during the Covid-19 pandemic. #Novellavember #translatedliterature

#Novellavember 7: Strange Dogs by James S.A. Corey (2017)

I haven't read/seen The Expanse because it's very sprawling, but this was a nice bite-sized piece of sci fi that felt like part of a larger world but not like I was missing anything. Will probably read more of these.

I feel bad that I fell off of my #NovellaNovember / #Novellavember. Thursday I fell victim to what I think was food poisoning, and I can never concentrate on reading, writing, or even television when I don't feel well. Yesterday I finally went to urgent care and ... I have a bowel obstruction.

Time for an overdue update for #Novellavember! One sapphic sci-fi and one gay YA romance.

Best Books Under 200 Pages! 📚 YouTube video by Jen Campbell

My favourite book vlogger, Jen Campbell, just released a video where she talks about books under 200 pages. Some of these books I've also read, but some of them I have not heard of (which is very exciting). This is also perfect for #Novellavember: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7L8...

#Novellavember 6: A Mouthful of Dust by Nghi Vo (2025)

I love the Singing Hills Cycle so much and this was just as good at all the others. Creepy and sad and beautiful, I can't recommend this series enough.

Clear Light of Day by Anita Desai

Clear Light of Day by Anita Desai

Reading some Anita Desai for #Novellavember. I picked this book up secondhand several years ago after someone online recommended it to me several years before that. I love the internet.

My two novellas against a starry background: THE NIGHT LIBRARY OF STERNENDACH: A VAMPIRE OPERA IN VERSE, and THE GLASS GARDEN. The first has batwings, fangs, and a book on the cover. The other has white letters on a kaleidoscope image.

As always, thanks, Gabino!

#Novellavember will be wrapping up soon, and I know some of you are still looking for new books to round out the month.

Want a bittersweet love story? Or an ineffable space horror? Maybe both?

Today's #NovellaNovember / #Novellavember book is Crypt of the Moon Spider by Nathan Ballingrud, the first in the Lunar Gothic Trilogy. It delivers exactly what's promised: Gothic horror on the dark side of the Moon.
