A photo of a dried lotus pod in a terrarium. The pod has many large holes where seeds used to be. There is one black oval with legs in one seed hole and one blue-gray oval with legs in another. These must be lotus seeds, and are definitely not beetles

My pet armored darkling beetle eating some cucumber.
Her name is Egg (whichever beetle is being the most characteristic at the moment is named "Egg",) and she enjoys stomping, being bigger than my other beetles, and caching peas in bad hiding places.
