A close-up "head shot" of an American Coot duck. The duck is mostly a very dark gray. The eyes are bright red with a dark center. The beak is mostly white but with a conspicuous maroon-colored shape at the top of the beak. There is also some silver and a tiny bit of maroon lower down near the tip of the beak.
