The Ottawa Tool Library offers thousands of tools for lending, workshops & repair cafes. Borrow tools, learn new skills & meet great friends! I bought a hand-made button that says “Canada is not for sale” and gave it to PM Mark Carney! See what great projects you can do with the right tools! #OttWN

Thanks to @lainejohnson.bsky.social for hosting a great winter fun day skating party at Ben Franklin Place! The food vendors (Chile and Grilled Cheese!), magic show and Sparky the fire dog were fantastic! I picked up flower seeds, a book about #Nepean history, road safety reflectors and more. #OttWN

I only made it for the tail end of the McKellar Park Fire & Ice skating party. But I did have a chance to catch up with some of the McKellar Park Hosers - volunteers who maintain the skating rink no matter what the weather! It’s that kind of dedication that really builds a special community! #OttWN

I enjoyed another fantastic winter fun day at Woodroffe Park hosted by the Carlingwood Community Association. It was great to talk to neighbours and community volunteers. The skating rink looks great, especially with the creative idea of using people’s old Christmas trees as decoration! #OttWN

#OttWN

I welcomed PM Mark Carney to Produce Depot in #OttWN. We will help 12 million Canadians afford groceries and essentials, including:
• A 25% increase to the GST rebate for five years
• A one-time 50% top up this year
• Funding to support supply chains, food producers and local food infrastructure.

Another successful local small business in #OttWN. Garlic n Onion is my favourite Lebanese restaurant right down the street from my office. Today it was so busy and I discovered that their Crispy Saj sandwich has gotten really popular! I stuck with my usual Chicken Shawarma platter. Check it out!

Northwest One is more than a condo complex, it’s a village. I celebrated with them the 50th anniversary of construction of the Poulin and Regina towers - complete with a cake in the shape of the buildings! This week I had great conversations at their 4 o’clock connection discussion group. #OttWN

Our housing plan is working! I toured the soon-to-be opened Salus supportive housing building near the Cityview curling club. This will provide stable housing for older adults with a history of addictions, mental health challenges and homelessness so that they can age in place with dignity. #OttWN

Today I joined colleagues to announce a new rental construction project with 316 units in #OttWN! Through the Apartment Construction Loan Program, we are increasing the number of rental units to bring costs down. This demonstrates how government and the private sector can work together for results.

I joined @mhottawa #rideforrefuge in Centrepointe, which raised $20,000 for an expanded furniture bank warehouse. Matthew House is so important in supporting newcomers when they first arrive. Many of those newcomers who were helped are now volunteering and contributing back to our community. #OttWN

Lincoln Heights community, spitting distance from my constituency office, is a hidden gem. On the edge of Mud Lake, an ecological treasure, it’s a special neighbourhood. My team and I were thrilled recently to have a pop-up-booth at the Mud Lake community association summer fun day. #OttWN

It was a gorgeous day for our day of action. What a great team of volunteers to go door to door with me and find out the priorities of local residents, and issues they would like me to raise in Parliament. I had some great conversations. Thanks to the Liberal party volunteers who helped out! #OttWN

Autumn in #OttWN is full of community and flavours! I went to the Bayshore community oven where they baked creative flatbreads, then to Woodpark Common Ground community garden harvest festival and enjoyed music, poetry and fresh veggies. And finally I topped it off at the Fisher Heights Corn Bake!

Recently I joined the annual Brain Tumour Walk at Andrew Haydon Park. I was invited by Danielle and her kids Naomi and Austin in memory of their dad Andrew. So many have been impacted by this terrible disease. The spirit and determination of those who attended was touching and inspiring. #OttWN
