Did a ^10 crystalline glaze firing - pots look pretty good. Torched off the sacrificial pedestals. Put pots into a sodium bisulfate bath for 4 hours. Grinding bottoms smooth tomorrow. Photos to follow. #thistleglenpottery #pottersofbluesky #crystallineglaze #porcelain #oxidationfiring #mtlebanonpa
Random pots from the recent Cone 10 oxidation firing - kitchen crock, serving bowl, tumbler (all stoneware) & snack bowl (porcelain). Ash, rutile, cinnamon candy apple, Shino and Chun glazes were used. #thistleglenpottery #pottersofbluesky #stoneware #porcelain #cone10 #oxidationfiring #mtlebanonpa

Removing the glaze catcher from a crystalline glazed pot. The glaze is quite fluid and tends to flow down the pot during the firing. The torch causes the catcher to expand, breaking the seal @ the joint. #thistleglenpottery #pottersofbluesky #crystallineglaze #porcelain #oxidationfiring #mtlebanonpa
A few pieces from the crystalline glaze firing. Gotta remove the glaze collection assemblies from the bottoms, grind them and then evaluate the finished pots. Figure out which colorants worked best. #thistleglenpottery #pottersofbluesky #crystallineglaze #porcelain #oxidationfiring #mtlebanonpa
A couple of jugs from the recent ^6 oxidation glaze firing. Variegated blue glaze on one and Licorice glaze on the other with John's Nuka sprayed around the rim on both. Slow cooldown firing program. #thistleglenpottery #pottersofbluesky #jugs #oxidationfiring #stoneware #cone6 #mtlebanonpa
