It's one of the more useful dialogues to have. I often find that answers to current questions I have were answered a couple of years ago, waiting patiently for the time when I'm ready to see them, within the pages of an older sketchbook.

At the weekend, looking through a stack of works on paper from the past 7 years, and I began to see them with fresh eyes. I noticed certain qualities I'd perhaps overlooked before, and this motivated me to begin working on some new studies. Untitled, acrylic on paper, 297x420mm. #paintingthoughts
After a break of a couple of weeks, this small painting, Japanese Moon, is now complete. A few final collage elements were added to vary the surface and gently disrupt the composition. It now feels finished.
