This is a detail of a vent on top Palau Güell by Gaudi. The vent covered with this beautiful mosaic was made using a technique called 'trencadis' that combines shards of tiles in an artistic way.

An quiet, atmospheric passageway within Palau Guell in Barcelona - a lesser-visited Gaudi residence.
The vaulted ceiling in Palau Guell which (at a guess) was around 30 feet above floor level which itself was already a couple of storeys above ground level. This was a particularly stunning room.
Some brightly coloured mosaic tiling on the roof terrace of Palau Guell. Definitely worth the visit and much, much quieter (and far less expensive) than the more famous Gaudi houses: Casa Batllo or La Pedrera (Casa Mila).
