On a light pinkish-white background, at the top there is a banner, old rose pink in colour, with a logo that says "Conversations with Tee" in white. The words 'Conversations' and 'Tee' are a hollow font, all capitalized. The word 'with' is in cursive and lowercase, and at the end of 'Tee' there is a sparkle shape.
Below this banner there are three lines of words stacked on top of each other as follows in all caps: 'CANDIDATE FORUM' in old rose-pink in a sans serif font. 'WARD PAPASTEW' in garnet red in a sans serif font that is hollow. 'Q & A' in garnet red in a sans serif font that is solid.
Below these words we can see two images of people who are the host and attendee of the forum. Both framed in old rose-pink circles with backgrounds transparent, two women can be seen. On the left is Tee Adeyemo, indicated by her name below the portrait, a smiling black woman in a purple shirt. Tee is the forum host. On the right is Rozalia Janiszewska, also indicated by her name written below the portrait, a smiling white woman in a patterned dress and blue cardigan. Rozalia is an attendee of the forum.
At the bottom of the graphic is an old rose-pink banner with the following in white sans serif font: 'Streamed on October 4th 2025". In the right corner there is the YouTube logo in white.
Top of the page shows an old rose-pink banner with a white graphic of two houses side by side to the right and the following text starting on the left: "QUESTION Yes, one of my primary proposals in that regard is to implement a rent cap or rent controls. I think that rent is skyrocketing and it's extremely unaffordable for the majority of renters. Most people cannot afford to pay what's required right now.
The place that I live currently, when I started renting it three years ago it was $900. I am going to be moving out and the landlord is going to be charging the next person $1,500. So he wants to raise the rent $600 in three years. I think that is crazy. That's almost double in three years. So yeah, rent caps are really important.
I also believe increasing the housing supply as much as possible is going to reduce prices. That is one reason that I have a degree of belief in infill. I think that we need as much housing supply from anywhere we can get it as possible, because when there is increased supply that means that usually the prices will go down."
Top of the page shows an old rose-pink banner with a white chat bubble graphic to the right and the following text starting on the left: "QUESTION How have you thought through communicating with Edmontonians? What's your plan? How will you keep them up to speed?"
Below this, there is the following text on a pinkish-white background: "ANSWER I agree that there is a disconnect between Edmontonians and Council at the moment. One of the commitments I have made in this campaign is doing my best to respond to every email that I get from individual voters. Regardless of how long that takes me, I'm trying to respond to every single one. And I think I've managed that so far.
I know that because of that, I am already ahead of Michael Janz on that issue. I got an email in my inbox about somebody who reached out to Michael Janz and he never replied to them. And they wanted to let me, Mark, and Joshua know about that.
So that's something that I am pursuing is responding to every email and I hope I can continue to do that if I become councillor. I think that constant communication is really important as well. I want to participate in holding town halls as a councillor regularly in different neighbourhoods to ensure that everybody gets an opportunity to let me know what they are concerned about. Yeah, those are my proposals."
Top of the page shows an old rose-pink banner with a white tent silhouette to the right and the following text starting on the left: "QUESTION Encampments continue to grow near Mill Creek and Whyte Ave. What specific strategies would you advocate for beyond enforcement address homelessness compassionately, but effectively?"
Below this there is the following text on a pinkish-white background: "ANSWER I think that is a great question. It's really important. I have a lot of proposals dealing with homelessness. The first and more important is adopting a housing first approach. So that means anybody who needs a house, gets a house right away. No questions asked. We don't say "What substances are you on?". We don't say "Are you mentally ill?". We don't say, "Do you have a job?". We say "Here's a house. Go ahead. Start your life" And we give options for treatment. That's not mandatory. We say "Here's access to counselling. Here's access to addictions treatment." And they get the choice of whether they want to do it or not, and they keep the house regardless. That's been tried in Finland and it's been really effective.
Some of the other proposals that I have are to open a new supervised consumption site in Edmonton. That would bring us up from one to two. As well as repealing the public spaces by-law, which I think has intentionally criminalized homeless people more than it already has been.
And the last proposal that I have is starting paid focus groups with homeless people. So homeless people can walk away with say $100 and they would be consulting with the city of Edmonton to express their opinions."
Here are some of my answers to questions asked by the moderator during the LCC candidates forum.
