A photograph in close up of various reed, weed and fauna stalks some of which are scarlet in colour. In different focus but nice verticals against the hatching of a wire fence just visible. Taken on a bright day with the BlueSky visible through trees in the background. The movie references an adaptation of a book of same title about a disadvantaged woman growing up as an outsider to an adjacent community, finding meaning and purpose in the nature that surrounded her family home. The site of image is a nature reserve located at a point marsh gives way to sea.

If I was trying to be too clever Manchester by the Sea is my alternative title and is one of most compelling movies. Set in a US coastal town. It will stay with you. The photograph is of a close up of two boulders only partially in frame taken so that the tiny gap between them is just visible allowing a glimpse to the shell beach beyond. In the foreground are shells mostly of the same colour, cream tones, creature and common. One or two have smaller pink shells caught in them. Cute and small against the solidity of the larger and darker boulders.

A photograph taken from a low position of an interesting stretch of beach on a predominantly cloudy day interspersed with moments of sunshine as they thinned and parted occasionally. In this image the sky is a mixture of low grey and white clouds and small patches of blue. The beach itself is mixed, in the foreground dark rocks and boulders atop shingle comprised mostly of shells and between the shingle and sea mud and sand flats. Some ground is higher where a hover craft landing platform is returning to nature from disuse. Silhouetted against the sky two small figures walk away from the camera. The low clouds, muted palette and shallowest of gradients of the beach give the image a closed feeling I think.

A photograph ostensibly of a ‘No Cycling’ sign on a post dictating the rules of the path it relates to. Just visible to the right are puddles in the muddy path. A wooden fence partially obscures a further ‘No Horse Riding’ sign on the same post. Beyond is the expanse of the view across the bay to an outcrop beyond on a very sunny day in January. It’s a repeating location across some recent posts. 🔴 The sun is behind the sign creating a glow to part of it.

A photograph taken by placing phone on a wooden fence. Of which a post is visible in the bottom left corner. The scene is ostensibly of the view across the bay to the cliffs of Ramsgate. The sky takes its rightful fifty percent and features white and grey clouds hanging low but parted to hint at the beautiful blue sky day that came with raised temperatures to match. The foreground features the last of the seed heads clinging to their stalks. Beyond which the sea is rippled in the cool (not cold) breeze and blue steel in colour! Il arrive! ✨

‘Dyce’s painting was the product of a trip he made in the autumn of 1858 to the popular holiday resort of Pegwell Bay near Ramsgate, on the east coast of Kent. It shows various members of his family gathering shells. The artist’s interest in geology is shown by his careful recording of the flint-encrusted strata and eroded faces of the chalk cliffs. The barely visible trail of Donati’s comet in the sky places the human activities in far broader dimensions of time and space.’ https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/dyce-pegwell-bay-kent-a-recollection-of-october-5th-1858-n01407 3.10.22

Heavy use of filters here transform a person, in beach ware, reading on a concrete ledge adjacent to the foreshore of an estuary .. the image is bleached orange & yellow principally.. and the person made a sorta ghosly presence ..
.. a scene of reading introspection in an isolated foreshore setting where filters have caste the scene in a ghostly orange light ..
