It's sooo cool, seeing the PicoIDE in Mac OS X. Here's a Power Mac G4 (Quicksilver) running 10.4.11 with the PicoIDE set to IDE (hard drive) mode. It sees the drive fine and will even boot to it! 👍

FINALLY found my Pantone books. Now I can dial in the final color match for the #PicoIDE enclosure and buttons. I’m thinking of a darker beige for the buttons for some contrast, since a perfect match is basically impossible due to different materials.

Finishing things up for #PicoIDE and it just about saturates the IDE bus in MWDMA mode 2. I’m pretty happy with this! It tests as fast as a 74x CD-rom drive which means there’s a bit more headroom in that mode but that could be the CPU on this K6-2 system being a bottleneck.

After staying up way too late last night refactoring IOR to be ~65% faster, #PicoIDE is now booting the Performa 630 on its famously cursed IDE interface

Also in this announcement - the front panel and WiFi interface developed for #PicoIDE is also coming to BlueSCSI!

This weekend I implemented command passthrough to #PicoIDE over SMART Command Transport (which is done via creative use of the SMART log get/set commands). This way you can get status of the PicoIDE, load disc/disk images, etc., and being implemented with SMART means it works in user mode in Windows
