Very little grows on jagged rock. Be ground. Be crumbled, so wildflowers will come up where you are.

The picture is of an adult and child reading a poem while laying on the floor in their home. The caption reads 'National Poetry Month' and the post is from the Saskatchewan Literacy Network. The Network logo is in the lower middle section and has a stylized book with a stylized globe in front of it, symbolizing the world of opportunities that are possible through literacy and learning. www.saskliteracy.ca
April is National Poetry Month! A poem can share ideas, stories, and feelings in a new way. Some poems rhyme, some flow - each of them teaches about language and culture. Try a poetry show at home, where everyone can share a poem! #PoetryMonth #SaskLiteracy

#PoetryMonth Day 8
My dear critique partner Ranjeeta's #MG #NIV published last year. And let me tell you, this #VerseNovel dances on the page! Meenakshee has not spoken since the loss of her mother. But she is desperate to advocate for abused elephants. Accompanied with beautiful illustrations.
Here is the latest watercolor haiga by Cendrine Marrouat. The sky is blue with hints of pink and light whispers of grey clouds. There are four bird silhouettes, flying staggered, over the upper left and the upper right. In the foreground is a mossy green mountain that peaks on the left with a black, upright, round-canopied tree atop. Behind it, an orange-brown mountain peaks on the right. The overall feel of this painting is tranquil, cozy, and slightly dusky. This lovely scene conjures the perfect background for Cendrine's haiku: Suddenly the asymmetry of mountains home
Week 2 of #NationalPoetryMonth, we honor the incredible #haiga artistry of Cendrine Marrouat (@cendrinemedia.bsky.social).

Scrapbook background. Heading reads Clara Bush Vadala. Portrait of Bush Vadala and covers of her books Prairie Smoke and Resembling a Wild Animal.
Scrapbook background. Skunk, Alive, poem by Clara Bush Vadala, It’s 4am, and you’re as sleek as tar, It’s really not your fault you’re marked like roads- Your asphalt backside broken by the white, That lines you sides about your shoulder blades- Like you’ve nowhere else to be but on them, You descend form midnight onto highways, When we forget the stench of paving roads, Reminding us with sacrifice: that scent, That Stretches miles before the wind makes you, Anonymous, again. Please, find a stream, Be washed away in that instead of smashed, By bumpers. There’s no glory in your guts, They’re only feeding hungry buzzards now, Don’t you get it? I don’t want to smell you.
Clara Bush Vadala is a poet and veterinarian from North Texas.
Clara is a good friend of the collection and regularly reads her poetry at our Conferences! #SowellCollection #PoetryMonth #poetry #literature #community #nature #archives

On Tuesday, pink to show them you're still nice.
