Landscape view of a grazed salt marsh showing a number of installed stick-like pore water sampling devices. There are high and low parts of the terrain, with the low parts filled with water.
An up close view of installed pore water samplers in a patch of Spartina cordgrass
A close up of the dialysis chamber installed, with some sticking out of the ground. They're meant for peatlands, so you are supposed to push them in, but we had to dig them in due to the sand underneath the salt marsh sediment.
Taking a GPS measurement of one of the sampling spots in a Spartina patch. I use the Map Cam app, so I get a picture, can take notes, and a GPS point all encoded together.
It's been a long time, but I was able to do some of my own #FieldWork in a Sylt #SaltMarsh a couple weeks ago. We tried installing some dialysis chambers (the mud puddles) and did some of my usual porewater collection with ceramic-tipped single point samplers. #WomenInSTEM #PostDoc ๐ฉโ๐ฌ #PoreWater #GHG
