Temporary Pause of Services at St. Clair County Health Department
Teen Health Clinic
In accordance with the medical direction of Dr. Remington Nevin, Medical Director of the St. Clair County Health Department (SCCHD), all services at the SCCHD Teen Health Clinic, located on the campus of Port Huron High School, will be temporarily suspended beginning Monday, February 9th.
This decision follows concerns raised during the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, February 5th, 2026.
During this period of suspension, students requiring urgent medical attention will be redirected to the SCCHD main campus, located at 220 Fort Street, Port Huron. Non-urgent appointments will be rescheduled for a later date.
The temporary suspension is intended to allow for a comprehensive quality assurance and compliance review to ensure that all services provided by the Teen Health Clinic are in full adherence to applicable laws and regulations. This course of action has been jointly agreed upon by county administration and health department leadership.
Dr. Remington Nevin, SCCHD Medical Director, stated, "The decision to temporarily pause services was made in the best interest of ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with all relevant regulations. This review will help us address any concerns and continue to provide quality healthcare services to the community."
Liz King, Health Officer for SCCHD, added, "We are committed to addressing any and all concerns raised by members of the community. Our top priority remains delivering high-quality services with minimal disruption to the students and parents who rely on these services."
