Listening to MIKA during a book arts studio shift — is this #queerbibliography ?
This is part of an issue with some exciting new #QueerBibliography work in, which I’m really looking forward to reading — just waiting for my physical copy to arrive. (I, uh, don’t actually have institutional access — if for some reason you *really* want to read my review and can’t, email me!)
Thrilled for @senatehouselib.bsky.social, who've secured funding to catalogue Jonathan Cutbill's Haud Nominandum, the largest personal collection of English-language LGBTQ+ materials in the world! We had a handling session at #QueerBibliography 2023 with a tiny selection and it's a riot

Half-seriously considering writing up a proposal for a future #QueerBibliography conference paper about representations of the book trades in queer romance novels (this post brought to you by Cat Sebastian's AFTER HOURS AT DOORYARD BOOKS, which I just finished reading, and absolutely loved)
Deadline extended! You have until Monday October 20th to put in an abstract! #queerbibliography #transbookhistory

The fourth, yes *fourth* #QueerBibliography annual conference is coming up in 2026!
I've been hesitant to say I'm writing a book (anxiety, don't want to jinx anything, not sure, etc.). But I've made an important decision. No more hedging. I'm writing a book! I can finally see its shape & contours. Now to get it done!
#MSbooks #LateStuartEngland #BookHistory #QueerBibliography
Very much recommend this novel for both its queer characters AND its loving and accurate depictions of historical and modern bookbinding. #queerbibliography squad representation!
I have a book manuscript to finish by January so I’m not really taking on new projects, but if I *were*, I’d be recruiting #QueerBibliography folks to propose some chapters for this.

Giant THANKS to the organizers: Beth DeBold @elizaaudacis.bsky.social, Kirsten MacLeod @abroadabroad.bsky.social, and Sam Bailey @18thcenturysam.bsky.social!
May there be more Queer Bibliographies to come!🌈
I got double booked with Rare Book School this week, so I’m so disappointed to be missing #QueerBibliography in Newcastle this year!
It was great reading the abstracts and helping to plan the conference. 🏳️⚧️ 📖 🏳️🌈
I've been re-listening to the audiobook of the first of Sarah Caudwell's Hilary Tamar mysteries, and it occurs to me that there's a #QueerBibliography paper to be written about the role of textual criticism in these very queer books. (I don't have time to write it, but maybe one of you?)

If you, like me, are yet to write your abstract for this year's #QueerBibliography conference, don't worry because there's still...the whole of today left
Excited to see this out finally! Thanks to @georginaemw.bsky.social tweeting about @malcolmjnoble.bsky.social's paper at the 2021 conf (also in the book), I introduced myself to Malcolm, we got talking about shared #QueerBibliography interests and unanswered Qs and then a load of good stuff happened
I’ll be visiting the British Library, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Holkham Hall, the U of Leeds, the U of Nottingham, and the Bodleian Library in May to study 17thC manuscript books like this one from the Huntington! Can’t wait to continue my research! #queerbibliography #manuscripts #bookhistory
it is common to reexamine our past, combing through it for prefigurations, hints, clues, signs, and signifiers. (2/2)
(this is kinda cheating bc there's a real last sentence that gestures towards the topic of the special issue, aka, #QueerBibliography #HistSex
Please do come along to the next #queerbibliography conference, at Newcastle University (UK) 11-13 June 2025! Proposals due by the end of the day on 31 January. #QueerBib2025
Still image from The Great British Baking Show. An illusion cake in the shape of a stack of four books whose spines read MYTHOS, MAURICE, HEARTSTOPPER, and SONG OF ACHILLES. They look both delicious and realistic.
OMG Mike’s showstopper book stack cake is #QueerBibliography in cake form!! @malcolmjnoble.bsky.social the Heartstopper one made me think of you immediately.
YESSSSS can't wait! #QueerBibliography

3 gay and 1 lesbian pulp paperback covers from the 1960s
Just unboxed a wonderful gift of gay and lesbian pulps and marvelling at the diversity of plots and subjects represented! #bookhistory #queerbibliography
The announcement of next year's #QueerBibliography: June 13-15, 2025, in Newcastle, UK and online. Theme is "in the making," and the CFP opens October 1!
"all rare book curators are polyamourous"
"how do i make straight things gay"
"bringing nonmonogamy to curation"
"intellectual gloryhole"
"cant imagine a way of collecting that's straight or monogamous"
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE #QueerBibliography
Thanks to @finchinthestacks.bsky.social for posting about #QueerBibliography talks, including my colleague Bena Williams on our Valentine’s Day event!
Next up is J. D. Sargan @jdsargan.bsky.social, presenting "Parchment, Skin, and the Touch of the Premodern Page," which I am VERY excited to hear. We were on the premodern panel together at #QueerBibliography 2023, and as someone also doing queer premodern bibliography, you're not alone!
