A sea lion expresses what it feels about my presence in a small boat, bobbing up and down off the south east coast of Vancouver Island yesterday. It didn't seem impressed! #vancouverisland #racerocks

#RaceRocks #lighthouse is such a cool but stinky place in the #SalishSea off of #VancouverIsland near #Victoria #BritishColumbia #Canada.
If you go #whale watching from Victoria there is a good chance you'll check it out.

A female elephant seal cools off on the ramp at Race Rocks. She arrived for her annual moult in mid-June and headed back to sea the day after this photo was taken. Elephant seals spend more than 80% of their lives in the open ocean!

We pass by Race Rocks on many of our tours, so we get to see it in all of its moods. The reflections on this calm evening were stunning!

Look who’s decided to make a reappearance at Race Rocks! We found Ollie the sea otter out of the water, relaxing in a bed of seaweed!

Awwww, look at that face! These are two of three elephant seals spotted recently at Race Rocks. Sadly, no pups were born there this winter, but there are occasional visitors like these young ones!

No, this is not a rock on the grass at Race Rocks. It’s a dozing female elephant seal, one of two to recently haul out there!
