Prise par la fenêtre d'un train, une photo où on voit deux voies au format 1520mm (la voie au premier plan comporte le talon d'un aiguillage). Au fond, un chantier où on distingue peut-être (à 100 mètres près, on les voyait encore) un fragment de voie en 1435mm. Entre les deux plans, un poteau de caténaire desservant les voies du premier plan. Il n'y a pas (pas encore) de poteaux de caténaires autour de la voie 1435. Tout au fond, de gauche à droite: la carcasse d'un bâtiment en construction, avec l'ossature métallique d'une voûte; un bâtiment plutôt centenaire, blanc-légèrement jaune. Et sur la droite, une sorte de tour d'une quinzaine d'étages, se finissant en flèche, couleur brique rouge ou granite rose sombre.
Au centre de l'image, la carcasse de la future aile "Rail Baltica" de la gare centrale de Riga. Un plateau en béton, sous lequel passe la plateforme de la voie ferrée, enjambé par des poteaux en béton inclinés prolongés par le squelette métallique d'une sorte de tenture ou d'arche. Deux grues et un drapeau letton surplombent le chantier. Sur la droite, un bâtiment jaune clair de 4 étages avec un fronton important, sur lequel est inscrit en letton "Ministère des Transports". Au premier plan, une étendue de goudron abîmé servant de lieu de repos à un grand nombre de mouettes (ou goélands vu la taille).

Au premier plan, l'avant d'une automotrice des chemins de fer lituaniens (LTG Link); argent avec un bandeau rouge orné d'un chevalier. La rame porte une inscription "Žygimantas Augustas". Au second plan, une automotrice des chemins de fer lettons (VIVI), grise anthracite et ornée de bandeaux et portes jaunes. Certains bandeaux sont obliques. Au troisième plan, on distingue l'ossature de la future aile "Rail Baltica" de la gare de Riga (déjà décrite dans les images voisines)
