A collection of coral-like ceramic sculptures sat on a round kiln shelf inside the kiln, waiting to be fired. Currently the colours are mostly pastel, with a lot of orange, pale blue and yellow, with a few splashes of red and deeper blue, but they’ll be brighter once finished and fired. There are lots of textural and sculptural motifs, including spikes, waves, fans, branches, craters, anemones and ridges. There’s a small acorn, a test piece, in the centre of the shelf, and a few pendants and brooches dotted around to fill the gaps.

The second shelf of the kiln, from above. You can see three kiln props that hold up the next shelf and in between are strange sculptural pieces, like alien coral. There is also a white textured scull mask and a black teardrop with a textured spiral.

There is a low round dish with flower-like motifs alongside a pale green brain coral texture. There are lots of smaller pieces in between to fill the gaps. There are three kiln props to hold up the next shelf.

Finally got the glaze kiln on! So I’ll have some actual new pieces to show you soon.
The pieces will be more vibrant (and 20% smaller) once fired.
