Throughout #RoundValley regional preserve, there are Western Bluebird nesting boxes. Western Bluebirds are in a population decline because non-native birds out-compete them for their preferred nesting sites. these boxes are designed to compensate for that, but this one is broken. 🧵+
After finding several flipped object that weren't put back (I left them as they were forming new cover as they were) I continued on the Miwok trail and saw what I believed to be a Western Bluebird, first I have seen at #RoundValley, but it was in flight, so no photo to confirm. 🧵+

Rain is coming tomorrow, so I will try to get to #RoundValley to see if I can photograph some Western Toads ( #Anaxyrus boreas) for @toadcialism.bsky.social and if I am really lucky - California Red-legged Frogs (Rana #draytonii ) but of the many times I've been there, only twice have I seen them.
