A gaunt, bony, undead werewolf, wreathed in mold and mushrooms. They have tangled white fur. Around them is a stone with moss, a fallen log, and gnarled, tropical looking branches with spanish moss. The werewolf holds a gnarled staff with moss and mushrooms on it. Its other hand is pressed to the earth, sickly blue-green veins crawling up the fingers and forearm.
Watchdog. Fingerling fruiting bodies, damp loam in cold lungs. Sodden bole belly. Echo of labors lost, a long life faded and spent.
My first illustration of 2025, setting a fantastic tone for the year.
