Today, we’re in Sacramento for the @housingnowca.bsky.social Capitol Day, meeting with legislators to talk about bills and budgeting to address the housing crisis.
These bills include the End AI Rent Hikes Act #SB52, the Automated Decision Safety Act #AB1018, and the Affordable Rent Act #AB1157.
#SB52 - Across CA, landlords are using covert price-hiking algorithms to collude with each other to jack up rents, unbeknownst to renters. SB 52 bans this digital collusion. Housing should be for people—not a profit schemes.
