An image of four flowers, predominantly iris, done on an Epson 10000XL scanner. Two images are made. One with the flatbed, and one with the transparency. They are combined in Photoshop. Unfinished. If you look closely, you can see that some of the petals don't align. That is due to the flowers moving slightly between scans.

2016. Scanning 3D objects can be a challenge. Scanners have zero depth of field. The transparency lid has to be raised to clear the subject. Sometimes it works. A wacky looking tulip from our garden. #scanner #scannerphotography #flowers #tulips #garden #nature #naturephotography #eastcoastkin

My garden used to be huge. Now? Mostly weeds. Aging joints made it difficult. Still, I do some veggies in planters. From my scanner series a few years back. #garden #gardening #eggplant #vegetables #scanner #scannerphotography #epson700 #vuescan #epsonscanner #photography #foodphotography

I thought these would be easy to ID. Pieris japonica, I think. Lots of flowers that look like these. They grow on bush next to my 'frog pond'. Made with an Epson 700 scanner. #scannerphotography #flowers #pieris #flowerphotography #photography #epsonscanner #naturephotography #plants #blooms #nature

A scan of a slice of tomato. Originally done my Epson 700. The size of the image is just under 10k x 10k pixels. We have a 30 inch print hanging. Amazing detail. #scannerphotography #photography #tomatoe #vegetable #garden #epson700 #epsonscanner #foodphotography

Prunus maritima. Flowers of the Beach Plum. I can't say they are abundant at IBSP, but they are not hard to find. Makes a good jam. Another image from my scanner. #beachplum #IBSP #vuescan #epsonscanner #10000xl #scannerphotography #flowers #fruit #flowerphotography

When I was working on my scanning series, I tried a few with multiple objects in the image. I got two that worked OK. This one of old fishing stuff, and another of stuff found in a "junk drawer". #epsonscanner #vuescan #fishing #lures #epson10000xl #scannerphotography #scanner

Everyone should grow salad greens. A small 4x4 box will keep you in greens for several weeks. Very easy. Make sure to plant mustard greens. Now a tasty weed in my yard.
