So all of a sudden it’s perry pear harvest time. Apples are more tolerant but pears which ripen from inside out can be rock hard one day and a sludge the next! We brought in just over 200kg of Dyers Pass pears yesterday and scrattered them. Today pressing the pomace. #pears #perry #scratter

The juice really is amazingly tasty and fresh. It won't last long, mainly because we'll have drunk it before it turns to vinegar!

Fresh apple pomace coming out of the scratter. Soon ( within minutes) it will start to brown as the tannins are exposed to air. This is the left overnight before pressing into golden apple juice ready for fermentation. #cider #apples #scratter #pomace
