We are very grateful to the Loch Broom and Ullapool Community Trust for part funding oyster cages with a larger mesh than the ones we had. Bigger mesh makes for easier cleaning and more water flow, which equals happy cage scrubbers, and happy oysters! #Seawilding #MarineLife

A further 3,000 native oysters released in Loch Broom, still way off our targets due to continuing spat shortages, but we have kept these oysters in the cages for longer than normal, so they are spawning size + safe from most predators. Fingers crossed for spawning! #Seawilding

This year at Chelsea there will be a show garden that puts seagrass center stage!! The Seawilding garden by Ryan MacMahon will have Zostera marina (eelgrass) as part of the garden to raise awareness on endangered marine ecosystems.

Given my gardening ethos, I'm always conflicted about garden shows like Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea, Malvern, etc but they do provide great opportunities to educate, show how to grow sustainably and change the narrative of "trendy" gardens.

Lots of empty native #Oyster shells in front of #Ullapool golf course on the low spring tides, evidence of the lost populations that we are restoring in Loch Broom. Oysters were once abundant here, they would have had a huge impact on coastal water quality. We need to restore at scale #Seawilding
Bathyscope was useful today looking for #Nativeoysters that we at #Seawilding released in Loch Broom this summer. Lots of live spotted, and no open shells so its all looking good!
