Gutted this wasn’t already here for the #shsconf2025

A week late but (still) reflecting on a wonderful 3 days at my first @socialhistsoc.bsky.social conference. So much fascinating social history research, provoking conversations across time periods/topics, with setting of @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social as an added bonus #SHSConf2025
What an amazing 3 days @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social for the @socialhistsoc.bsky.social conference. Got to listen to some amazing historians and ride the rides at the funfair. Not at the same time sadly! #SHSConf2025
Here's a recording of my talk for those who missed it: bit.ly/body-crowd

of Reform Crowds in Britain c. 1816-1848"
Paper presented at #SHSConf2025 9 July 2025 @socialhistsoc.bsky.social
Thanks so much for a great #SHSConf2025 conference at a superb location. Great to make new friends and catch up with older ones and so see so many excellent papers. Makes me hungry for what I missed in the parallel sessions! @socialhistsoc.bsky.social
We are delighted to say that #SHSConf2025 was an immense success!

Loved @socialhistsoc.bsky.social #SHSConf2025? Or - worse - missed out on being part of it this year? Our CfP for next year's 50th Anniversary Conference, which will be at Lancaster University in July 2026, goes live in the Autumn 🍂 so you have time to decide what might be a nice paper to submit.. 🤔
Really didn't take many photos at @socialhistsoc.bsky.social #shsconf2025 because I was too busy having a delightful time! Thanks to the organisers, to new friends, to all the presenters, and everyone who listened to my talk. A wonderful welcoming event (plus, some new reading to take home)
@socialhistsoc.bsky.social thank you so so much for such a brilliant three days. What an amazing venue to present for the first time. thanks to everyone for being so kind and encouraging. And thanks to my other amazing panel members. #shsconf2025
After a fabulous few days at the Black Country Living Museum, I left the #SHSConf2025 feeling inspired and relentlessly cheerful - but a mixture of exceptional panels, fish and chips and a fairground will do that for you. Thank you @socialhistsoc.bsky.social for a truly amazing conference. 📚🖋️🎓
Now #SHSConf2025 is done my term as PGR rep on the @socialhistsoc.bsky.social committee is over. It’s been great working with such talented people especially @louisebell.bsky.social. Good luck Louise and my successor for the future!

Back from a wonderful few days #SHSconf2025 - maybe the friendliest conference I've been to and a real beacon of light (apart from, of course, underground in the VERY DARK mine) - cheers @socialhistsoc.bsky.social for the opportunity to present, BCLM for being a fab venue, and to new friendships 🎠
I have to say I've not had conference FOMO in the post-pandemic era like I have for #SHSConf2025, well done everyone (fumes)
Coming out of #shsconf2025 thinking about histories of friendship and little nothings, about histories of idle chat and miscommunications, about what it meant to trust/doubt/believe one thing and not another, about how to improve my hand-eye coordination when throwing things at a pyramid of tins
I was only there for the day, chairing the wonderful panel on scrapbooking, but completely agree with this! Thank you so much @socialhistsoc.bsky.social @simonbriercliffe.bsky.social for organising such a great conference. There was such a lovely intellectual and friendly buzz! #shsconf2025
Here's a teaser of the legendary carousel they have for everyone. #SHSconf2025
Not much chance to post much over the last few days at #SHSConf2025, but seeing everybody's happy memories and excitement at being at @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social has almost brought a tear to my eye. On behalf of the museum, thanks so much @socialhistsoc.bsky.social and all delegates for coming!
What a brilliant conference! Feeling very lucky to have heard fascinating papers and met so many new faces within the atmospheric surrounds of the Black Country Living Museum! Inspired more than ever by the breadth and depth of social histories #SHSConf2025 @socialhistsoc.bsky.social
I manifested this during the #SHSConf2025 pub quiz @louisebell.bsky.social

Amazing venue, so many interesting papers, lovely chats with new friends, cool streets to walk down, and proper fish and chips. Thank you @socialhistsoc.bsky.social for the opportunity to attend and present in the UK for the first time. #shsconf2025
As always, I had the best time at #SHSConf2025 ❤️ It was an amazing chance to share some of my current research and meet some wonderful scholars! Thank you to all the team at @socialhistsoc.bsky.social for facilitating such an enriching conference!

Thank you to all who came out for our last panel on the last day. Such good discussions and many thanks to @zoejackson.bsky.social and our chair Leo Shipp for the generous and thoughtful discussion afterward. It was a great wrap up to #SHSConf2025
The @socialhistsoc.bsky.social #shsconf2025 at the @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social was brilliant. Brilliant panels but worth it just for the first evening social, with proper fish & chips, real ale, & a FUN FAIR! 😍
What an amazing, exhausting, brilliant few days. You’re all epic #shsConf2025

At a time when life in HE feels tough #shsconf2025 has been truly joyful. I’m leaving with a notebook brimming with notes & new ideas. It’s been lovely to natter to so many history peeps. Thank you to @socialhistsoc.bsky.social & @simonbriercliffe.bsky.social for your hard work! BCLM was perfect!
Three fantastic days in one of my favourite places! Had a great time at #SHSConf2025 with some fabulous people. Thanks to @historicalmeredith.bsky.social at @manchesterup.bsky.social for the book that I have been eyeing up for a while 😀 @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social @socialhistsoc.bsky.social
