A week late but (still) reflecting on a wonderful 3 days at my first @socialhistsoc.bsky.social ‪‪conference. So much fascinating social history research, provoking conversations across time periods/topics, with setting of @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social as an added bonus #SHSConf2025

Back from a wonderful few days #SHSconf2025 - maybe the friendliest conference I've been to and a real beacon of light (apart from, of course, underground in the VERY DARK mine) - cheers @socialhistsoc.bsky.social for the opportunity to present, BCLM for being a fab venue, and to new friendships 🎠

I have to say I've not had conference FOMO in the post-pandemic era like I have for #SHSConf2025, well done everyone (fumes)

Coming out of #shsconf2025 thinking about histories of friendship and little nothings, about histories of idle chat and miscommunications, about what it meant to trust/doubt/believe one thing and not another, about how to improve my hand-eye coordination when throwing things at a pyramid of tins

I was only there for the day, chairing the wonderful panel on scrapbooking, but completely agree with this! Thank you so much @socialhistsoc.bsky.social @simonbriercliffe.bsky.social for organising such a great conference. There was such a lovely intellectual and friendly buzz! #shsconf2025
