Went to check out a possible White-fronted Goose that had been seen on Skye yesterday. Today I went to find it, but it turned out to be a Taiga Bean Goose 😮. A new species for me and also for Skye 🥳

Barnacle Geese must be the most attractive looking of geese 😍. Just look at that patterning on their wings. These are part of a flock of 91 from North Skye today.

Had some great viewing of Snow Bunting near Broadford, an atmospheric White-tailed Eagle in the late afternoon light at Broadford and Black Guillemot at Portree last weekend. 🤩

White-tailed eagles bothering Great northern divers in the bay. Ringed plover, ~30 of them, sheltering behind clumps of seaweed, with Turnstone on the beach. Red grouse and Raven over the moor. And quite some scenery.

Did a 2.5 hour sea watch off Sconser this morning. 1 juvenile Sabine’s Gull, 15 Arctic Skuas, 7 Great Skuas and a White-tailed Eagle that almost landed on my car 😮

This White-tailed Eagle looked like some winged mythical beast on first glance as it flew over the A87 near Broadford this morning 😮. But it was carrying what looks like the remains of a Greylag Goose 😬
