I would have been playing this bargyn bin find today regardless but it turned out perfect as there is jackhammer construction going on across the street so this is very soothing as I try to work from my living room instead of my bedroom office. Don't turn your nose to these later Roy Smeck albums....Save for Les Paul he is perhaps the only musician who can take a schmaltzy easy listening arrangement of period pop tunes and make it compelling and interesting with his playing. In this case, its mostly lap (and perhaps pedal) steel slide / slack key guitar sounds. Lovely.
