Recorded some nice potatosongs and -sounds at the potato festival. The italian filmcrew that has been following us around all over Europe was still in #Nauvo making a 24h recording in the guest harbour.

Time for the traditional micselfie (micie?) after final shift of the 24h recording & traffic count in #Nauvo. Had to finish a few mins early to make it to the 22.30 ferry to Parainen. The ferries gives the trafficscape of Nauvo a special character since cars often arrive/leave in clusters. #someco

Today is #listeningwalk day in #Nauvo. We walk the same route(s) at five different times of a day. I found this interesting spot where new asphalt meets old. It is a no brainer that the sounds from traffic is more silent on the new surface.

Sound diary to be filled about during the day. Paper due on Tuesday.
Starting next week the #SOMECO team will do fieldwork in Nauvo, in the Archipelago Sea, Finland. I got a head start by doing a workshop with fifth and sixth graders today. Interesting #soundscape discussions about the new electronic school bell and sounds from the (not yet so lively) guest harbour.

Yes, of course we have recorded bells in Dollar too.
The church bell (it is only one) is ringed by hand on sundays. We got a nice chat with the gentleman who has this important duty.
On the right is a (warning?) bell located where you tee off at the Dollar golf course.

Interesting sounds in Dollar today. Recorded the siren of a "fresh fish car" - with the best sales slogan ever - and sounds of cricket at the batting cage near Dollar Academy. Tomorrow we will do the listening walks.

A nice day in Cembra. We were invited to two baitas ("huts") and hiked up to Lago Santo.
Our hosts sang a very moving song in honor of the Pope. In the evening at 8pm several church bells in the Cembra valley rang for a long time. Probably related to the Pope's death.

We have had som very interesting days in #Cembra so far. Lots of nice people, sounds and varying weather. Yesterday was #listeningwalk day. We divide the village in to three zones and walked them at five different times of the day. Today we do 24h recording and traffic counting. #soundscape #someco
