Today's #SpeciesSpotlight is the Asian Golden Cat!
A cat of many colors, with up to 10 color morphs recorded across its range. Itโs also one of our 9 focal species in the Bhutan Wild Cat Health Project, where our camera traps have detected 3 different color morphs so far!
The common ragworm is a vital part of our coastal ecosystems. Found in muddy and sandy shores, this segmented worm plays an important role in recycling nutrients and aerating sediments.

We sharing a #SpeciesSpotlight on one of our favourite marine creatures, the frogfish ๐ธ
Frogfish are experts at blending into their surroundings, often resembling coral or sponges. They can also change colour, but unlike some other marine animals, this process can take days or weeks.
Here's the resident burrowing owl that lives near the Novato Baylands nursery! Burrowing owls nest underground, and hunt for insects and small mammals close to the ground. Unlike most owls, burrowing owls are active during the day instead of nocturnal. #SpeciesSpotlight
