A sweet entryway into a home in an ancient town. Steps lead up to an arch that shows a whitewash wall with plant scones on it as well a side view of a wood door with blue panels on the right and a thick white drainpipe. At the bottom of the door is a watering can being used as a plant holder with green foliage. In the middle, a fluid wicker seat is suspended from a chain and just to its left, an ornamental swing on which a doll with floppy long legs is holding what appears to be a mallet is sitting. At the side at the bottom of the stairs, there are three huge plant pots with green perfectly round bushes in them. There are a couple of collapsible tables/chairs in between them.

An ancient medieval street tunnel (in Assisi or Spello, Italy, I forget which) with an arched roof containing brick arch supports along its length. It is time weathered, and a little spooky looking, black in some places. The cobbles on the pathway are smooth, and there is a light near the end that shows some shrubbery in the daylight outside.

A very rustic looking image shows part of a medieval wall built on Roman foundations that surrounds the city of Spello, Italy, with a very large arch (or gate). The road through reaches the outside areas. There are red flowers on the brick on one side of the arch, and a wrought iron fence (which, and it can't be seen here, is from the patio of a restaurant) and there is a bit of moss poking through the brick here and there. Through the arch, other buildings, including businesses surrounded by large plant pots with bushes in them can be seen.

Went to see the amazing Villa dei Mosaici at #Spello this morning. Phase 1 is Augustan, Phase 2 2nd/3rd c AD. Of note is the amazing triclinium mosaic with personifications of the seasons & a host of local and exotic animals. Support small archaeological sites this Xmas period! #ancientbluesky #rome
