Looking for ideas for the more adventurous #backpacking and #hiking opportunities on #VancouverIsland ?⛺
Check out this post I did after an amazing summer of time #outdoors in beautiful #britishcolumbia 🌲
One of my favourite regions is of course #StrathconaProvincialPark but don't overlook the […]
A rocky waterfall course, almost dry. This is a slight break between two long drops. Rocks on the left, where the sun reaches, are dry and brown, covered lightly with moss; there are a few ferns near the bottom. One large boulder, resting on the shelf in the centre, is dry. The centre of the photo, in the shade, where the water drips, is all clean rocks, damp or wet, black, with blue tints. Lumpy rock: this is pillow lava country.
Lupin Falls in the dry season; rocks on the shelf at mid-falls. New blog post: wanderinweeta.blogspot.com/2025/09/dry-... #VancouverIsland #Rocks #Waterfalls #StrathconaProvincialPark
Pushing onwards and upwards through the mountains with a heavy pack always makes the journey harder, but the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing this @rumon.bsky.social , with #StrathconaProvincialPark being both #BritishColumbia 's oldest & largest provincial park and now adding in this great article by Justine, shows why I love it so damn much.
Its really hard to take it all in, such a biologically and geologically diverse and special place 💚 #MarbleMeadows

Heading back into this geologically stunning section of #StrathconaProvincialPark this weekend. There truly is nothing like it in #BritishColumbia, a natural wonder & incredible place on #VancouverIsland

The end of this trail is amazing when you hit the alpine with stunning views but how can you not love this mossy creek crossing on an old fallen cedar when starting the Crest Mountain trail.

Lupin Falls is magnificently framed, and just the mid-point of an awesome hike on an awesome day.
